ST. CATHARINES, ON - The Brock University men's hockey team dropped a 6-2 decision to the UQTR Patriotes Saturday afternoon at the Seymour-Hannah Centre.

The Patriotes opened the scoring after a bad bounce off the boards behind the net was buried by Pierre-Olivier Morin. Brock later tied the game 1-1 as Greg Jambrosich (Hamilton, ON) and Dallas Rossiter (Surrey, BC) set up
Mack Lemmon (Newmarket, ON) for his first goal of the season. UQTR scored a few minutes later leading after the first period 2-1.

In the second period, the Badgers had an early chance to tie the game with Jambrosich shooting one off the crossbar. Brock would get into penalty trouble allowing two power play goals and a shorthanded goal falling behind 5-1 after the second period.

In the third period, the Badgers cut into the lead with a power play goal from
Sammy Banga (Windsor, ON) making it 5-2. Andrew Radjenovic (Hamilton, ON) and
Chris Maniccia (St. Catharines, ON) added the assists. The Patriotes would add an insurance goal to take the game 6-2.

Patriotes forward Morin led both teams with a hat trick.

In goal, Brock rookie goaltenders
Adam Beukeboom (Sundre, AB) and
Alex Brooks-Potts (Burlington, ON) combined for 21 saves in the loss. Patriotes goaltender Sebastien Auger made 28 saves for the win.
