ST. CATHARINES, ON- The Brock University women's volleyball team fell to the Guelph Gryphons 3-0 (20-25, 21-25, 20-25) Friday night at home in the Bob Davis Gymnasium.
Tori Carroll (Walkerton, ON) led the Badgers with nine kills followed by
Renee Helmer (Waterloo, ON) with eight kills and 12 digs. Setter
Emily Armstrong (Oshawa, ON) led the Badgers with 17 assists and added 10 digs for the double-double.
Veteran
Karlinna O'Leary (Whitby, ON) is closing in on becoming Brock's all time career leader in digs. O'Leary added 18 digs in this contest for a career total of 1,206 digs, trailing Becky Gratrix for second on the all time list with 1,212 digs.
For Guelph, Maddie Dedecker had 10 kills and 12 digs for the double-double. Setter Alexandra Curran had 30 assists and 10 digs for a double-double in the victory as well.
For the match, Brock hit .076 adding 28 kills with 20 errors on 105 offensive attempts. The Gryphons finished with a .162 hitting percentage adding 34 kills with 15 errors on 117 attempts.
With the loss Brock falls to 2-3 on the season and will face the Waterloo Warriors tomorrow at 6pm in the Bob Davis Gymnasium.
