ST. CATHARINES, ON - The Brock University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 (17-25, 28-26, 17-25, 19-25) decision to the Waterloo Warriors Saturday night at the Bob Davis Gymnasium.
Abby Jenkins (Cambridge, ON)Â and
Renee Helmer (Waterloo, ON) both registered 11 kills each to lead the Badgers. Jenkins also added 13 digs for the double-double.
Tori Carroll (Walkerton, ON)Â and
Maddie Brown (Scarborough, ON) collected seven kills each, while rookie setter
Emily Armstrong (Oshawa, ON) contributed with 32 assists and 15 digs for the double-double.
Fifth year libero,
Karlinna O'Leary (Whitby, ON) added six digs in the match, which moves her into a tie for second all-time in Brock career digs with Becky Gratrix (1212). The all-time Brock career digs leader is Kaila Wiley (1414).
Waterloo's Claire Mackenzie led all players with 18 kills and eight digs. Also in double figurs was Alyson Colpitts who chipped in with 10 kills, four aces and three block solos in the victory.
Brock hit just .105 for the match, finishing with 40 kills and 26 errors on 133 offensive attacks. Waterloo had a .206 hitting percentage adding 50 kills with 22 errors on 136 attempts.
Brock ends the first half with a 2-4 OUA conference record. After the break, they open the second half on the road versus Guelph on January 7th.
