Box Score WATERLOO, ON - The Brock University men's hockey team defeated the Laurier Golden Hawks in a high scoring affair 8-4 Thursday night at the Sun Life Arena in Waterloo.
 
The Badgers opened the scoring early, scoring five goals in the first period on just eight shots. Goals for the Badgers came from Brody Silk (Iroquois Falls, ON), Braden Pears (Victoria, BC), Adam Lloyd (Orleans, ON) with two and one from Mitch Nardi (Hamilton, ON) playing in his first game back since off season surgery. Laurier added two goals with Brock leading 5-2 after the first period.
 
Brock opened the scoring 4:23 into the second period, as Lloyd registered his third goal of the night to put the Badgers up 6-2 and didn't look back holding onto the lead to close out the game 8-4 for their fourth OUA win in a row.
 
Lloyd led the Badgers with a career high four goals, including an empty netter to seal the win for the Badgers. Josh Timpano (Orillia, ON) also had a strong game recording three assists.
 
In goal, Clint Windsor (Hamilton, ON) continues his strong play in net as he tied his career high in saves with 49, a feat which he pulled off in Brock's last game against the Guelph Gryphons. Laurier goalies Colin Furlong and Chris Festarini combined for 22 saves in the loss.
 
The Badgers play on the road again tomorrow against the University of Toronto Varsity Blues at 7pm.
