TORONTO - The Brock University men's hockey team defeated the Toronto Varsity Blues by the score of 2-1 Saturday night on the road.
The victory extends the Badgers OUA win streak to five straight as they improve to 6-3 and move into a tie for top spot in the OUA West Division with 12 points.
Brock opened the scoring midway through the first period as
Josh Timpano (Orillia, ON) beat Toronto starter Andrew Hunt for his third goal of the season.
Dexter Weber and
Brody Silk (Iroquois Falls, ON) added the assists. Â
Three minutes later Brock went up 2-0, after Timpano setup
Matt MacLeod (Niagara Falls, ON) for his fifth goal of the campaign.
Toronto would break the shutout with nine minutes left in the third period, as Matt Heffernan setup Connor Bebb for his second goal of the year.
In goal, Brock's
Clint Windsor (Hamilton, ON) registered 25 saves for the victory.
The Badgers return to action next weekend when they host the Concordia Stingers (Oct. 11 - 7:15pm) and UQTR Patriotes (Oct. 12 - 3:15pm) at the Seymour Hannah Centre.
