OTTAWA - The Brock University women's basketball team fell to the No. 4 ranked Carleton Ravens 73-49 Friday night on the road.

The Badgers trailed 20-16 after the opening 10 minutes. In the second quarter, the two teams played even, before the Ravens put together a 14-0 run in the final five minutes of the first half to take 42-26 lead.

The Ravens defense forced the Badgers into 15 turnovers which led to 21 points.off turnovers.

Bridget Atkinson (Welland, ON) led the Badgers with 18 points while Kira Cornelissen (Aylmer, ON) contributed with 14 points and eight rebounds

The Badgers shot Brock 37.5% (18-for-48) from the field and were cold from outside going 0-for-6. They were also 13-for-16 (81.3%) from the charity stripe. Carleton went 31-for-67 (46.3%) from the floor, 3-for-12 (25.0%) from three-point land and 66.7% (8-for-12) from the free throw line.

The Badgers take on the Ottawa GeeGees Saturday night on the road.
