OTTAWA - The No. 5 ranked Brock University men's basketball team ended the first half of the OUA regular season with a 90-63 loss to the No. 3 ranked Ottawa GeeGees Saturday night at Montpetit Hall.

Ottawa held a five-point lead, 25-20 after the opening 10 minutes. Early in the second quarter, Brock cut the lead to two points, 26-24, before the GeeGees went on an 18-3 run to take a 44-27 lead at the half.

Ottawa closed out the game with an 11-3 run on route to their fifth OUA victory. The Badgers go into the break with a 4-2 record, tops in the OUA Central Division.

Ottawa outscored the Badgers 36-7 in points off turnovers as Brock turned the ball over 23 times to the GeeGees 11.

Tyler Brown (Hamilton, ON) and rookie Daniel Cayer (Montreal, QC) both recorded 12 points each to lead the Badgers scoring.

Johneil Simpson (Toronto, ON) added nine points and surpassed Kevin Moore (1396), Mike Kemp (1400) and Terry Rigg (1403) in Brock career scoring moving him into 18th all-time with 1404 career points.

Ottawa had all five starters in double figures led by Caleb Agada who finished with a game-high 28 points.

For the game, Brock shot 42.1% (24-for-57) from the field and struggled from the arc going just 3-for-15 (20.0%). Ottawa went 32-for-66 (48.5%) from the floor including 9-for-25 (36.0%) from long range.
