ST. CATHARINES, ON - The Brock University women's basketball team (8-6 OUA) dropped a 65-49 decision to the Carleton Ravens Friday night at the Bob Davis Gymnasium.
Carleton held an 18-14 lead after one quarter. In the second quarter, the Ravens put together a 17-6 run in the final seven minutes to take a 37-26 lead at the half.
Carleton extended their lead to as many as 24 points in the third, as they closed out the quarter on a 13-4 run for the 59-35 lead. The Badgers outscored Carleton 14-6 in the final quarter, but it was to late as they dropped their sixth regular season conference game.
Brock's lone player in double digits was
Kate Harpur (NOTL, ON) who finished with 13 points, all coming in the first half, and seven rebounds.
Jenalyn Yumol (London, ON) added nine points and four assists, while
Kira Cornelissen (Aylmer, ON) and
Baelie Campbell (Halifax, NS) rounded out the Brock leaders, chipping in with eight points each.
Leading the Carleton offense was Heather Lindsay who registered 20 points and 11 rebounds for the double-double. Â
For the game, Brock shot 28.1% (16-for-57) from the field, including just 15.8% (3-for-14) from beyond the arc. The Badgers were also 14-for-18 (77.8%) from the free throw line. The Ravens went 24-for-69 (34.8%) from the field, 6-for-20 (30.0%) from long range and 11-for-14 (78.6%) from the charity stripe.
