ST. CATHARINES, ON - The Brock University women's basketball team dropped a 75-50 decision to the Ottawa Gee Gees Saturday night at the Bob Davis Gymnasium.
Brock had three players in double digits led by
Kate Harpur (NOTL, ON) who registered 13 points and nine rebounds.
Jenalyn Yumol (London, ON) contributed with 12 points and three assists, while
Kira Cornelissen (Aylmer, ON) added 11 points and six rebounds. The other two Brock starters
Melissa Tatti (Ancaster, ON) and
Kayla Santilli (Brantford, ON) went a combined 1-for-14 (7.1%) from the field.
Leading the Ottawa offense was Catherine Traer who led all scorers with 25 points and five rebounds. Katherine Lemoine contributed with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Kellie Ring finished one point shy of a triple-double adding nine points, 10 rebounds and 14 assists.
For the game, Brock shot just 28.3% (17-for-60) from the field, 17.6% (3-for-17) from beyond the arc and 65.0% (13-for-20) from the charity stripe. The Gee Gees went 29-for-64 (45.3%) from the floor, 8-for-23 (34.8%) from long range and 9-for-13 (69.2%) from the free throw line.
The Badgers return to action next weekend when they host the Nipissing Lakers and Laurentian Voyageurs.
