ST. CATHARINES, ON - The Brock University women's basketball team dropped a 52-48 decision to be York Lions Saturday night at the Bob Davis Gymnasium as part of the USports "Shoot for the Cure".
Leading the Badgers was
Kira Cornelissen (Aylmer, ON) who finished with 17 points and eight rebounds.
Bridget Atkinson (Welland, ON) contributed with fourteen points and eight rebounds while four other Brock players added four points each in the loss. The Badgers were without starting point guard
Melissa Tatti (Ancaster, ON).
York was led by Katrina Collins-Samuels and Ishanaa Seupersadsingh who chipped in with 12 and 10 points respectively.
For the game, Brock shot 29.4% (20-for-68) from the field , 0.0% (0-for-9) from beyond the arc and 61.5% (8-for-13) from the charity stripe. The Lions went 24-for-71 (33.8%) from the floor, 3-for-11 (27.3%) from long range and 1-for-7 (14.3%) from the free throw line.
The Badgers return to action January 27th at 6pm when they host the Ryerson Rams at the Meridian Centre.
