Box Score ST. CATHARINES, ON - The No. 8 ranked Brock University men's basketball team had a big second half on route to an 82-64 victory in front of a strong hometown crowd at the Bob Davis Gymnasium Saturday night.

Prior to the game, fifth year senior Ryan Bennett (Toronto, ON) received the Jason Pearson Memorial Scholarship from Jason's father Mr. Larry Pearson and longtime friends Ryan Dudley and Lucas Hodgson.

Jason Pearson studied Physical Education at Brock while playing on both the varsity men's basketball and volleyball team. In June of 2001, Jason's life was tragically and suddenly taken from him, his family and his friends in a car accident.

The Badgers and Lions found themselves tied at the half 37-37. 

Brock opened up the third quarter with a run, and never looked back, as they outscored York 45-27 in the final two quarters to close out the weekend atop of the OUA Central Division standings.

The Badgers had three players in double figures led by Johneil Simpson (Toronto, ON) who recorded 22 points, highlighted by five three-pointers made. Bennett also drained five treys to finish with 17 points. Dani Elgadi (Toronto, ON) recorded the double-double adding 15 points and 22 rebounds. 

York was led by Jayden Frederick who added 16 points in the loss.

The Badgers return to action January 27th at 8pm when they host the Ryerson Rams at the Meridian Centre.
