WINDSOR, ON - The Brock University men's hockey team dropped a tough 5-4 decision to the Windsor Lancers on the road Friday night.
The Badgers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the opening 14 minutes with goals coming from
Mitch Nardi (Hamilton, ON),
Chris Maniccia (St. Catharines, ON) and
Andrew Radjenovic (Hamilton, ON).
Windsor would answer with one before the end of the first period, as Steve Anthony beat Brock starting goaltender
Alex Brooks-Potts (Burlington, ON) to make it 3-1 for Brock after 20 minutes.
In the second period, it was all Windsor as they answered three straight times with goals from Konnor Haas, Eric Palazzola and Dylan Denomme to take a 4-3 lead heading into the third.
Just two minutes into the third, Brock evened the score 4-4 as
Sammy Banga and Radjenovic setup
Josh Timpano (Orillia, ON) for his sixth goal of the season.
At the 5:46 mark of the third, Palazzolo and Chad Shepley would find Chris Scott who would score the eventual game winner.
Maniccia (1G, 1A), Radjenovic (1G, 1A), Timpano (1G, 1A) and Banga (2A) all finished with two points each. With his two assists, Banga now has 50 assists in his career at Brock.
In goal, Brook-Potts recorded 33 saves in the loss. Windsor's Richard Blake collected 31 saves for the victory.
