The Brock University women's hockey team recorded their first win of the regular season as they defeated the UOIT Ridgebacks by the score of 5-1 Sunday afternoon at the Seymour-Hannah Centre.

The Badgers opened the scoring with just 26 seconds remaining in the first period as Kimberly Brown and Annie Berg setup Christina Ieradi on the power play for her first goal of the regular season.

Brock would take a 2-0 lead midway through the second period as Ieradi added her second power play goal of the game. Berg and Maggie Spratt-Mallick added the assists.

In the third period, Brock's offense would continue to roll as they outscored the Ridgebacks 3-1.

Christina Ieradi and Paige Cohoon would setup Amanda Ieradi who gave the Badgers a 3-0 lead at 8:57. Hunter Accursi would close out the game with back-to-back goals for her first two of the season. Kat Whiteye and Kailey Peirson added the assists.

In goal, Brock's Jensen Murphy turned aside 32 of the 33 shots she faced for the victory. UOIT's
