The Brock University women's hockey team defeated the No. 9 Western Mustangs by the score of 2-1 in shootout Friday night on the road.
The Mustangs opened the scoring 13:02 into the opening period as Emma Parson set up Megan Taylor for her first goal of the season.Â

Kimberly Brown who beat Western starter Carmen Lasis to even the game 1-1.
The Mustangs outshot Brock 25-21 in the second and third periods, but it was Brock goaltender
Jensen Murphy coming up big to keep it tied 1-1 after regulation.
In overtime, Murphy collected five more saves to send it to a shootout.  In shootout, she stopped all three Western shooters, finishing with a game-high 42 saves for the victory. Lasis collected 34 saves in the loss.Â

Maggie Spratt-Mallick scored in shootout for the road win.
The Badgers returns to action Saturday, October 28th when they take on the Windsor Lancers on the road.
