The Brock University men's hockey team dropped a 4-2 decision to the Guelph Gryphons Saturday night at the Seymour-Hannah Centre.
Brock opened the scoring with two minutes left in the first period, as Brandon O'Quinn and
Matt MacLeod setup
Chris Maniccia for his first goal of the regular season.
With six minutes remaining in the second period, Guelph would even the score 1-1, as Scott Simmonds and Cody Thompson found Todd Winder who buried home his seventh goal of the campaign.
Guelph took a 2-1 lead just 51 seconds into the third period, as Marc Stevens recorded the power play marker. The Gryphons went up 3-1 at the six minute mark, as Josh McFadden beat Brock goaltender
Clint Windsor for his third of the season. Brock's Ayden MacDonald cut the lead to one, 3-2, as he scored his fourth goal of the season, with assists going to Brayden Stortz and
Skylar Pacheco.
Brock would look for the equalizer in the final minute, but it would be the Gryphons Thompson adding an empty netter with 10 seconds remaining to secure the road win.
In goal, Windsor recorded a game-high 49 saves in the loss, while Guelph starter Jason Da Silva added 18 saves in the victory.
The Badgers return to action November 24th and 25th when they host the Nipissing Lakers and Laurentian Voyageurs at the Seymour-Hannah Centre.Â
