The Brock University women's hockey team knocked off the No. 7 ranked Guelph Gryphons by the score of 1-0 Saturday afternoon at the Seymour-Hannah Centre.

This matchup was a battle of two of the top teams in the OUA, highlighted by goaltenders Valerie Lamenta of Guelph and Jensen Murphy of Brock. In the first two periods, Guelph outshot Brock 22-16, with both starters keeping the game tied 0-0.

5:23 into the third period, Brock's Kailey Peirson and Annie Berg would setup Kiana Tobia for her first goal of the season and the eventual game winning goal.

Murphy registered 30 saves for her second regular season shutout and her sixth of her career. Lamenta added 23 saves in the loss.

The Badgers next action is Sunday, November 19th at 2:15 pm when they host the Windsor Lancers at 2:15pm at the Seymour-Hannah Centre.
