Box Score The Brock University men's volleyball team opened the OUA regular season with a 3–1 loss to the Guelph Gryphons in front of an electric crowd at the Bob Davis Gymnasium Friday night.
Leading the Badgers offense was rookie duo of
Logan House who finished with 14 kills and eight digs and
Peter Schnabel who collected 13 kills with six digs.
Alex Carter contributed with seven kills, nine digs and three aces while setter
Marcelo Correa finished with 36 assists, three kills and five digs in the loss.
Guelph was led by Matthew Baxter who recorded the game-high 17 kills four aces and five digs. Sam Nothnagel added nine kills and four blocks while Jackson Peterson finished with seven kills. Setter Samuel Kloke contributed with the double double registering 35 kills and 10 digs in the victory.
For the match, Brock hit .212 adding 46 kills with 24 errors in 104 offensive attacks. Guelph recorded 44 kills and 20 errors on 112 attempys for a .214 hitting efficiency.
Prior to the match the Badgers recognized over 20 alumni who were in attendance for the homeopener.
The Badgers next action is November 4th versus the Waterloo Warriors on the road.
