The Brock University women's hockey team dropped a 2-1 decision in shootout to the Ryerson Rams Friday at the Mattamy Athletic Centre.

The Badgers opened the scoring three minutes into the first period as Christina Ieradi setup Amanda Ieradi for the 1-0 lead. Just over five minutes later, Ryerson tied it 1-1 on a goal from Elexa Pakozdy with Kayla Karbonik and Sarah McGilvray adding the assists.

Both goaltenders in Brock's Jensen Murphy and Ryerson's Rachel Seeley were strong the rest of the way sending this game to a shootout.

In the shootout, Ryerson would score all three with goals from Ailish Forfar, Alex Rodriguez and Sarah McGilvray. Brock's lone shootout goal came from Maggie Spratt-Mallick.

Murphy registered 32 saves in the loss while Seely collected 25 saves for the home victory.

The Badgers return to action November 4th when they take on the Toronto Varsity Blues at Varsity Arena.
