The Brock University men's hockey team defeated the Ryerson Rams by the score of 4-3 Wednesday night at the Seymour-Hannah Centre.
The Badgers opened the scoring four minutes into the first period as
Ayden MacDonald and
Dexter Weber setup
Josh Timpano for his first goal of the season. Ryerson evened the score with four minutes left in the first as Matt Mistele beat Brock starting goaltender
Clint Windsor. Marcus Hinds and Cavin Leth added the assists.
Midway through the second period, Brock's
Sammy Banga recorded back-to-back goals to put Brock up 3-1 with eight minutes left in the period. The Rams Mistele would cut the lead to one, as he registered his second goal of the night and eighth of the campaign.
The Badgers regained the two goal lead one minute into the third period as
Matt MacLeod setup
Adam Lloyd for his second of the season. Ryerson's Leth would make it 4-3 with eight minutes left in regulation but that was as close as they would come as Brock collected their third win of the regular season.
In goal, Windsor recorded 41 saves for the victory. Ryerson's Taylor Dupuis collected 31 saves in the loss.
The Badgers return to action Friday night as they are on the road against the Laurier Golden Hawks.
