ST. CATHARINES, ON - The Brock University men's hockey team topped the Toronto Varsity Blues 5-2 at the Seymour-Hannah Centre Friday night.
Toronto opened the scoring less than one minute in the game to go up 1-0 after the first period. Brock goals from Sammy Banga (Windsor, ON) and Matt MacLeod (Niagara Falls, ON) along with a Toronto goal would even things up after the second period 2-2.
In the third period, Brock ran away with the game with three unanswered goals coming from Banga, MacLeod and Andrew Radjenovic (Hamilton, ON) for a final score of 5-2.
Banga led the Badgers with a career-high five points (2 goals, 3 assists), followed by Radjenovic with three points (1 goal, 2 assists) and Macleod with two points (2 goals). Defenseman Dexter Weber (New Dundee, ON) also contributed with two assists.
In goal, the Badgers Clint Windsor (Burlington, ON) made 33 saves for the victory. Toronto's Andrew Hunt made 32 saves in the loss.
The Badgers next play at home again Saturday night at 7:15pm against the RMC Paladins.
