Box Score ST. CATHARINES, ON - The Brock University women's hockey team dropped a heartbreaker in double OT 2-1 to the No. 2 ranked Guelph Gryphons.

After a scoreless opening period, the Badgers opened the scoring 8:43 intro the second as Maggie Spratt-Mallick setup Lisa Buratynski for her fourth goal of the season with a power play marker.

The Gryphons tied the game 1-1, 4:57 into the third period as Sophie Contant beat Brock goaltender Jensen Murphy for her fifth goal of the campaign.

Brock outshot Guelph 6-4 in the first overtime which no one could answer. With 3-on-3 in the second overtime, Karli Shell setup Claire Merrick with 1:18 left in OT for the game winner.

In goal, Nurphy recorded 29 saves in the loss while Guelph starter Valerie Lamenta collected 39 saves for the victory.

The Badgers recognized Melissa Hurrell, their lone graduating senior prior to the game.
