ST. CATHARINES, ON – The Brock University women's volleyball defeated the Nipissing Lakers by a score of 3-2 Sunday afternoon at the Bob Davis Gymnasium (19-25, 30-28, 24-26, 25-16, 15-11).

The Badgers were led by Renee Helmer (Waterloo, ON) who finished with a game-high 18 kills and 20.5 points respectively. Laura Condotta (Etobicoke, ON) also contributed 11 kills, and 16 digs for the double-double in the Badgers victory. Freshman setter Emily Armstrong (Oshawa, ON) added in with a game-high 42 assists, and 11 digs. Senior libero, Karlinna O'Leary (Whitby, ON) also played an integral part in the victory with a notable 19 digs.

Tracy Hammerton contributed 15 kills while Stephanie Armstrong added 15 digs for the Lakers.

The Badgers finished with .348 hitting percentage adding 59 kills and 13 errors on 132 attempts. The Lakers collected 52 kills and 17 errors on 143 attempts with a hitting percentage of .245.

The Badgers look ahead to Saturday, February 18th where they will host the McMaster Marauders (12-3) team at the Bob Davis Gymnasium. Game time is 6pm.
