Box Score OSHAWA, ON - The Brock University women's hockey team defeated the UOIT Ridgebacks by the score of 4-2 Friday night on the road.

Brock's offense was alive in the opening 20 minutes as they scored four times on eight shots to take a 4-1 lead after one period.

Cara Sayles (Welland, ON) opened the scoring 5:31 into the first as she registered her seventh goal of the season. Melissa Hurrell (Caledon, ON) would add a power play marker midway through the period with Kaitlyn Colonna (Mississauga, ON) adding the lone assist. Less than half a minute later, Christina Ieradi (Maple, ON) added a shorthanded marker to put the Badgers up 3-0.

UOIT would cut the lead to two, as Nauboris beat Brock starter Jensen Murphy (Kingston, ON) for her 15th goal of the campaign.

Ieradi and Annie Berg (Beamsville, ON) setup Sayles with nine seconds left in the first, for her second goal of the contest and eighth of the season.

In goal, Murphy recorded 33 saves for the victory.

The Badgers next action is Saturday night when they host the York Lions 7:15pm at the Seymour-Hannah Centre.
