Box Score The No. 2 ranked Brock University men's basketball team defeated the Algoma Thunderbirds by the score of 79-46 Friday night on the road.

Brock trailed 6-4 in the early minutes of the opening quarter before going on a 25-4 run to take a 29-10 lead with less than a minute left in the first quarter. The Badgers led 41-25 at the half, and closed out the game with an 18-4 run improving their OUA West record to 11-2.

Leading the Badgers offense was senior Dani Elgadi who recorded 25 points and 11 rebounds for the double-double. Tyler Brown and Johneil Simpson both contributed with 14 points each, while Kascius Small-Martin rounded out the Brock leaders finishing with eight points and four rebounds.

For the game, the Badgers shot 40.5% (30-74) from the field, 16.7% (3-18) from beyond the arc and 84.2% (16-19) from the free throw line. Algoma went 15-57 (26.3%) from the floor, 9-23 (39.1%) from three-point land and 7-11 (63.6%) from the charity stripe.

The Badgers close out the weekend series against Algoma Saturday night at 8pm in Sault Ste. Marie.
