The Brock University women's basketball team dropped a 72-44 decision to the Guelph Gryphons Wednesday night at the Bob Davis Gymnasium.

In what has been the case for the past few games the Badgers had a short bench dressing just seven. Since the new year, the Badgers have faced some tough injuries, but this has not stopped the shortened bench from playing a strong 40 minutes each game.
 
Brooke Murdoch and Baelie Campbell led the way for the Badgers. Murdoch recorded 15 points going 5-for-10 (50.0%) from the field and 3-for-5 (60.0%) from three. She also added six rebounds and a pair of assists, Campbell registered 13 points, three assists and three rebounds, including shooting 9-for-10 (90.0%) from the free throw line. 
 
For the Gryphons, Burke Bechard (14) , Megan Brenkel (11) and Julia Kokonis (10) all finished the game scoring in double figures. In addition the Gryphons held strong on defense with 14 steals. Guelph were also able to get 28 points from their bench.
 
The Badgers will look to get a win this Saturday January 27th when they host the Waterloo Warriors 6pm at the Bob Davis Gymnasium as part of the Badgers for Breast Cancer Weekend. #WEAREPINK
