Laura Condotta registered 28 kills, but the Brock Badgers women's volleyball team opened the season with a 3-1 (25-20, 25-19, 23-25, 25-18) loss to the Ryerson Rams in Toronto on Wednesday.

Condotta posted a .411 efficiency rating and 16 digs.

"It was a tough loss to the defending national champions, but at the end of the day we can play better volleyball," said head coach Steve Delaney. "Once we shake the early season jitters we will be in great position."

Emily Armstrong contributed 34 assists and Grace Edwards added three service aces.

Up next, the Badgers (0-1) travel to Toronto on Saturday, Oct. 27 for a 6 p.m. match.
