The Brock men's basketball won their second consecutive game with a 102-85 victory over the Guelph Gryphons at Bob Davis Gymnasium on Saturday.
Cassidy Ryan led the Badgers with 20 points and Johneil Simpson scored 18.
Brock shot 46.9 per cent from the floor, however they were outrebounded by Guelph 49-44.
"Guelph never gave up. They kept coming back at us and kept chipping away at our lead," said Trivedi. "They scored a ton of points in the fourth quarter. We're not really happy with them scoring 30 points, and at the end of the day that's us losing the quarter. Our guys thought they were going to go away. They didn't."
After carrying a 54-43 lead into halftime, the Gryphons posted 52 points in the second half.
"I thought we competed for a longer stretch defensively than last night, but I still don't think we were great defensively," said Trivedi.Â
The Badgers' offence continued to fill the basket as Tyler Brown posted 13 points and dished out six assists, while Mitch Saunders (10 points) and Daniel Cayer (eight points) each tallied seven rebounds.
Second-year guard Noah LaPierre posted 11 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
"Noah's a kid that when he steps on the floor has a lot of passion," said Trivedi. "A lot of energy and he always has fun. You could see it in tonight's game. If there's a rebound, he's going to get it, and I think that's what all young guys have got to do: play with passion, compete and have fun."
Up next, the Badgers (2-0) host the undefeated McMaster Marauders (2-0) on Friday, Nov. 2 at 8 p.m.
