The Brock men's basketball team opened their season at the RBC Classic at Bob Davis Gymnasium on Friday.

The Badgers played a fast-pace offence, but ultimately lost 78-72 to the McGill Redmen.

"I thought the guys competed hard for most of the game. We put together two decent quarters, but we need to put together four quarters on a consistent basis," said head coach Madhav Trivedi. "We had some good looks at key moments but couldn't connect. This will be a great learning experience for all of us to where we can improve and come ready to play UPEI on Sunday."

Kascius Small-Martin and Tyler Brown led the team in scoring with 14 points each. Ryan Cooper posted 11 points off the bench. Brown contributed five assists and six steals.

Daniel Cayer collected seven rebounds.

For McGill, Alex Paquin poured in 12 points.

The Badgers will play the UPEI Panthers in Bob Davis Gym at noon on Sunday, Oct. 7.
