The Brock women's basketball team fell 81-62 to the visiting McMaster Marauders at Bob Davis Gymnasium on Friday.
Brock outrebounded McMaster 56-44 and Melissa Tatti scored 15 points and secured seven rebounds. Courtney McPherson couldn't be beat in the paint as she hauled in 16 rebounds.
"I think it was a learning experience for us as a team," said Tatti. "They are a strong fifth-year team and top four in the country. We kept up with them for the most part. Our one goal was to make them beat us not to lose the game ourselves and I think we did that. Next time will be a different outcome, we just got to load up on defence, mesh better, set hard screens, execute and hit our shots."
Kristin Gallant netted 14 points and Meagan Charbonneau chipped in 10.
Marauders forward Linnaea Harper led all scorers with 26 points and 10 rebounds.
Up next, the Badgers (0-3) visit Laurentian on Friday, Nov. 9 at 6 p.m.
