Box Score Defenceman Connor Walters scored the game-winning goal and registered two assists as the Brock Badgers defeated the Guelph Gryphons 5-3 at Seymour-Hannah Arena on Friday.
The Badgers improved to 11-5.
Walters, a first-year Social Sciences student from Welland, scored the game winner on the power play midway through the second period.
"Connor is an outstanding teammate and a player that knows what it takes to win," said head coach Marty Williamson. "A great detail guy."
Brock's Ayden MacDonald and Connor Brown each scored in the first period before Guelph tied it up at the end of the frame and took the lead when Chris Brill-Morgan scored to open the second.
Adam Lloyd scored the game-tying goal for the Badgers and Brody Silk added an empty netter.
Ryan Burton tallied two assists. MacDonald, Brown, Adam Berg, Tyler Rollo, Justin Brack and Ethan Spaxman each added an assist.
Badgers goalie Logan Thompson made 19 saves, while Gryphons netminder Evan Cormier faced 42 shots.
Up next, the Badgers are 6-4 in their last 10 games and look to finish off the first half of the season when they travel to Toronto on Saturday to battle the division-leading Ryerson Rams at 7:15 p.m.
