Brock women's hockey drops 1-0 OT loss to No 8 Gryphons

The Brock University women's hockey team collected a point in a tough 1-0 overtime loss to the No. 8 ranked Guelph Gryphons on the road Thursday night. 

On senior night in Guelph, Kelly Gribbons scored the game winner in overtime to escape with a 1-0 victory.

The Badgers Jensen Murphy was outstanding in goal registering 38 saves in the loss. Murphy surpassed her single season high for saves and ranks first in the OUA with 661 saves in 21 games with a .943 save percentage. Guelph starter Valerie Lamenta added 21 saves for the win.

Five of Brock's 10 losses this season have come by one goal. They currently sit in seventh place with 33 points (8-3-7-3), four points ahead of Laurentian and five ahead of Waterloo, who both have three games in hand.

Brock has three regular season contests remaining, including two on the road next weekend at Laurentian and Nipissing and the final regular season game at home on February 17th - 2:15pm at the Seymour-Hannah Centre as part of Brock Women's Hockey Senior Day.
