The Brock University women's volleyball dropped a tough 3-2 decision (23-25, 27-25, 21-25, 25-19, 10-15) to the Nipissing Lakers Sunday afternoon on the road.
Leading the Badgers was
Renee Helmer who registered 15 kills and 13 digs for the double-double.
Tori Carroll contributed with 13 kills and 18.5 points while
Jennifer Todd chipped in with eight kills and eight digs and
Grace Edwards added six kills and 14 digs. Setter
Emily Armstrong finished with 43 assists and 13 digs for the double-double with liberos
Megan Smith and
Julia Balatbat both adding 11 digs each in the loss.
Nipissing was led by Olivia Robinson and Shayla Kessler who recorded 15 and 13 kills respectively in the win.
For the match, Brock recorded 50 kills with 30 errors on 157 attempts for a .127 hitting percentage. Nipissing finished with 56 kill with 29 errors on 177 attempts for a .153 hitting efficiency.
The Badgers are still in the hunt for an OUA playoff berth with three regular season matches remaining on the road versus Waterloo (Feb. 18) and Lakehead (Feb. 23 & 24).
