The Brock University women's basketball team dropped their fifth straight as they fell to the Western Mustangs by the score of 71-45 on the road Wednesday night.

The lone Badgers player in double figures was Courtney Mcpherson who recorded 11 points and five rebounds. Ana Caldeira Rua and Miranda Smith both chipped in with eight points each in the loss.

Leading the Mustangs offense was Mackenzie Puklicz who led all scorers with a gamer-high 24 points and nine rebounds and Maddy Horst who added 19 points in the win.

For the game, Brock shot 31.7% (19-60) from the field, 13.0% (3-23) from beyond the arc and 36.4% (4-11) from the free throw line. The Mustangs went 25-72 (34.7%) from the floor, 10-30 (33.3%) from three-point land and 11-12 (91.7%) from the charity stripe.

The Badgers close out the 2017-18 on the road Saturday, February 17th against the Windsor Lancers.
