The No. 2 ranked Brock University men's basketball team had their 12-game win streak come to an end as they dropped a 96-83 decision to the Windsor Lancers on the road Saturday night.
Brock jumped out to an early 9-0 lead and held a 22-12 lead after the opening 10 minutes. Early in the second quarter, the Badgers led 28-20, before Windsor answered with a 27-7 run to lead 47-35.
Midway through the third quarter, Brock would bring it to within four points, 55-51, but it was the Lancers offense answering again with a 14-4 run to lead 69-55 after 30 minutes.  The Badgers could not gain any ground in the fourth as they dropped just their third game of the regular season.
Brock had four players in double figures led by
Johneil Simpson who recorded 22 points and seven rebounds, highlighted by five 3-pointers.
Daniel Cayer contributed with 16 points and 10 rebounds for the double-double while
Cassidy Ryan and
Dani Elgadi chipped in with 14 and 12 points respectively.
Leading Windsor was Mike Rocca who led all players with a game high 27 points.
The Badgers shot 46.3% (31-67) from the floor, 37.5% (9-24) from three-point land and 60.0% (12-for-20) from the charity stripe. The Lancers went 29-62 (46.8%) from the field, 16-35 (45.7%) from beyond the arc and 22-29 (75.9%) from the free throw line.
The Badgers finish the OUA regular season with a school best 21-3 record and will host the OUA 1/4 finals on Saturday night. Tickets are available at the Walker Sports Complex Welcome Desk.
