The Brock University women's volleyball dropped a doubleheader on the road against the Lakehead Thunderwolves as they ended their season with a 6-13 OUA West record.

On Friday night, the Badgers lost to the Thunderwolves by the score of 3-0.

In the first two sets, both teams were battling to finish the season on a high note but Lakehead prevailed 25-21 and 25-22. These first two sets could have been won by either team with their kill percentages being just about even. However in the third set the Thunderwolves played excellent defense limiting the Brock teams kills and prevailed with a 25-22 set win to take the first game of the weekend.
 
Jennifer Todd and Tori Carroll led the Brock team in kills. Carroll was exceptionally efficient, as she did not commit an error.  For Lakehead, Rheanna Geisel led the way with 12 kills on only one error.

On the second night of the back to back series, Brock dropped a 3-1 decision to Lakehead.

Lakehead won the first set to the tone with a 25-18 win. However this did not discourage the Brock side who immediately responded with a gutsy 25-23 second set win. The Badgers were in it and eyeing the opportunity to finish the season with a win and split the weekend series with Lakehead.
 
The Thunderwolves finished the third set with more kills than Brock and won the set 25-18.
 
With their back up against the wall, the Brock women fought hard in their final set of the season but ended up losing the set and the match. This match say contributions from everyone on the Brock team. Laura Condotta and Jennifer Todd's strong play stood out as they finished with eight and nine kills respectively.
 
The Badgers now head into the offseason with 2018-2019 in their sights. They will look to improve over the offseason and try to make a push up the OUA West standings and make it to the Quigley Cup Playoffs.
