Warriors snap Badgers' win streak

Box Score

The Waterloo Warriors scored three unanswered goals to snap the Brock Badgers' five-game win streak at CIF Arena on Saturday.

The Badgers lost 3-2 despite holding a two-goal lead late in the second.

"We had a great start, but we ran out of gas in the third period," said head coach Marty Williamson. "I'm happy with the weekend. It was solid. We got three of four points on two roads games."

Connor Brown and Adam Berg each scored a goal and registered an assist.

Brown put Brock on the board first with a goal just a minute into the game and Berg scored at 16:16 of the second before Keigan Goetz immediately struck back from Waterloo.

The Warriors send the game into overtime with a late third-period marker courtesy of Markson Bechtold. Jack Scanlan netted the OT winner.

Jake Ringuette and Jared Marino each picked up an assist for Brock.

Badgers netminder Mario Cavaliere faced 24 shots. The Badgers replied with 32 shots on Waterloo goalie Julian Sime.

Up next, the first-place Badgers (15-5-1-0) begin a three-game home stand when the host the Toronto Varsity Blues on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 7:15 p.m.
