Globocki earns Jason Pearson Memorial Scholarship

Box Score

Outside hitter Dean Globocki of the Brock men's volleyball team was awarded the Jason Pearson Memorial Scholarship prior to their match versus the Windsor Lancers at Bob Davis Gymnasium on Sunday.

Globocki, a third-year sport management student from Markham, earned the award due to his athletic and academic ability, but also because he exhibits the same qualities and positive attitude for as Pearson did.

"We've been able to give back to the school, to the place that our son, Jason, loved to be at," said Jason's father Larry Pearson. "He loved this school so much, not only was he a dual-sport athlete, but he didn't come home to Guelph in the summer. He stayed here and worked in the PALS program helping young children in the community. We really appreciate Brock continuing to memorialize our son for what he did and who he was for when he was here."

The Badgers came out firing and won the opening set over the Lancers, but ultimately lost 3-1 (25-22 , 19-25, 17-25, 18-25).

Logan House led the offence with 13 kills, two service aces and 12 digs. Clay Blanchette contributed 11 kills and seven digs while Peter Schnabel added seven and three service aces.

Globocki registered 10 digs.

Up next, the Badgers (3-8) visit McMaster (8-2) on Sunday, Jan. 20 at 3 p.m.
