The Brock women's volleyball team earned their fourth shutout of the season with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-14, 25-15) victory versus the Lakehead Thunderwolves at Bob Davis Gymnasium on Friday.
The Badgers move into second place in the OUA West Division with a record of 7-5.
"It was a challenge for the girls to stay focused throughout all three sets, but did a good job of that," said head coach Steve Delaney. "We got everybody into the game."
Grace Edwards racked up a team-high eight kills and was named Brock's Player of the Match.
"She made an emphatic left-side spike that landed inside the attack line, which had the whole gym buzzing," said Delaney.
Brock was able to isolate Lakehead's dangerous outside hitter, Rheanna Geisel, and limit her serve receive.
The game flow provided an opportunity for Delaney to deploy some of his younger players.
"They all did great," he said. "It was a near perfect night for our young players, unfortunately rookie setter Sara Rohr suffered an ankle injury in warmup."
Outside hitter Tyler Garrick made her first appearance of the season.
"She was flawless," added Delaney. "Hannah Davenhill was key for us to get Emily Armstrong some rest and Christina Jovetic came in and got a block and a kill for us and she continues to develop. This is Jenn Todd's first year playing any left side and she looked like she had been playing there all her life."
Tori Carrol and Jennifer Todd each secured five kills. Armstrong posted six digs and 23 assists while Darby Taylor provided four service aces and six digs.
The team posted a .377 kill percentage.
Up next, the Badgers travel to Hamilton to battle the McMaster Marauders (6-4) on Sunday, Jan. 20 at 1 p.m.
