Box Score Cassidy Ryan scored 30 points and Johneil Simpson scored 13 points to move past Ken Murray to sit No. 4 among all-time Brock men's basketball scoring as the Brock Badgers trumped the McMaster Marauders 91-86 in Hamilton on Wednesday.
With a total of 2,768 points, Simpson needs 22 points to catch former Badgers star Brad Rootes for No. 3.
Simpson also collected nine rebounds versus McMaster.Â
The Marauders punched their way to an early lead through defensive pressure and finding high-percentage looks on the other end.
McMaster led 48-35 heading into halftime.
The third quarter featured a massive momentum shift in favor of the Badgers and they began to show why they have the better record.
Going into the fourth quarter, Brock narrowed the gap to just 67-65 McMaster.
A momentum shift can do big things for a team with the strong desire to win at all costs, and Brock took advantage of that.
Off of a 30-point third quarter, Brock answered with a 26-point fourth quarter and pushed ahead late over the Marauders, holding on to take the important victory.
Tyler Brown scored 21 points and contributed six assists. Daniel Cayer scored eight points and 12 rebounds while Kascius Small-Martin tallied 13 points.
Brock improves to 13-6 for second in their division with an important matchup in two days when they host the Windsor Lancers (6-12) on Friday, Feb. 1 at 8 p.m.
