The Brock Badgers kicked off 2019 with a bang.

Brock trounced the visiting Ryerson Rams by a score of 5-0 at Seymour-Hannah Arena on Friday to usurp the Rams for first place in the OUA West Division.

First-year goaltender Logan Thompson made 39 saves to record his third shutout of the season.

"Everyone did their job tonight," said head coach Marty Williamson. "This game is a perfect example of team effort. We were consistent from start to finish."

Defenceman Dexter Weber scored two goals. Cosimo Fontana, Ethan Price and Jeff Corbett each added a goal. Brock led 3-0 after the first period, and carried a 4-0 lead into the third.

Up next, the Badgers hit the road to play the York Lions at Canlan Ice Sports on Saturday, Jan. 5 at 7 p.m.
