The No. 8 Brock women's basketball team lost their first road game of the season on Jan. 8.
Forward Lauren Golding scored 25 points to help lift the York Lions to a 66-63 win over the Badgers at the Tait McKenzie Centre in Toronto.
Sam Keltos and Melissa Tatti led the Brock offence. Keltos scored 19 points and Melissa Tatti netted 17 points, nine assists and six rebounds.
The Badgers controlled the lead through a majority of the second quarter, but only held a razor-thin lead, 27-26, at halftime.
Brock capitalized on turnovers as they scored 16 points on 21 York mistakes.
The scoreboard teeter tottered through the fourth quarter before York's Cyanna King and Emma Jonas drained back-to-back free throws to lock up the victory with less than a minute remaining.
For Brock, Jenneke Pilling added eight points and six rebounds. Jessica Morris contributed six points, three steals and four rebounds.
