The Brock men's basketball team will compete in the OUA Wilson Cup Playoffs for a fifth consecutive season when they travel to Hamilton to face the McMaster Marauders in Round 1 on Wednesday, Feb. 19.
The eighth seed Marauders host the ninth seed Badgers at Burridge Gymnasium at 7 p.m. in a match being streamed lived on OUA.tv
The winner of the single-game elimination game advances to play the No. 1 Carleton Ravens in the quarter-finals on Saturday, Feb. 22 in Ottawa.
Brock has compiled a winning record in the second half of the season, 7-5, oppose to McMaster, who fell out of the national rankings in late January and has gone 4-8 since returning from the break. However, McMaster has won both regular season meetings by scores of 74-72 and 81-64 this season.
McMaster will attempt to crack Brock's responsible defensive play as the Badgers were fifth in the league with just 75.4 points allowed and are a threat to force turnovers as they rank fifth in steals per game (8.9).
The game projects to be a battle in the paint as both teams excel at rebounding. Fourth-year forward Daniel Cayer is fourth in the league with 10.1 rebounds per game.
Brock looks to contain McMaster's second-year guard, Jordan Henry, who finished fourth in the league with 23.1 points per game.
