Goaltender Jensen Murphy held down the fort to backstop the Brock women's hockey team to a 1-0 win over the Waterloo Warriors at Columbia Ice Fields on Saturday.
Murphy kicked out 22 shots for her third shutout of the season.
The Badgers improved to 13-9 and moved into fourth place in the OUA standings. Brock has two games remaining, including an opponent they meet next Saturday - Nipissing - who is ahead of them in the standings.
Badgers forward Niamh Haughey scored the would-be game winner midway through the first period.
"A lot of my game is speed and being physical on the ice, so I've tried to focus in on that and just try to keep the team hyped to win these big games during the last bit of our season," said Haughey. "We're in a good spot heading into playoffs, and then it's a new season. The team is excited and so hopefully we can make a long stretch in playoffs."
Paige Cohoon and Cassidy Maplethorpe each earned an assist on the goal.
"I was hanging out in front when Paige Cohoon was taking the puck behind the net," said Haughey. "She kind just popped the puck out front and I was all alone to pot it in."
Up next, the Badgers travel up north to complete the regular season at the Laurentian Voyageurs on Friday, Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m. and Nipissing Lakers on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 4:30 p.m. OUA.tv
