Laura Condotta scored 14 kills and the No. 7 Brock women's volleyball team (11-3) walked over the No. 10 Waterloo Warriors by a score of 3-0 (25-17, 25-7, 25-22) as the Badgers honoured their senior players at Bob Davis Gymnasium on Feb. 7.
Prior to the match, the Badgers paid tribute to outside hitters Condotta, Darby Taylor and Morgan Monkman.
"Brock Volleyball is a huge part of my volleyball career and means a whole lot when it comes to the success I've had in the sport," said Condotta. "I'll forever be a Badger no matter where I go with the sport in the future."
The seniors filled the scoresheet as Condotta added six digs while Taylor posted nine kills and Monkman contributed seven digs and four kills.
"My team this year, and every other team mate and coach I've played with over the last five years have taught me so much and have been nothing but the best to me," said Condotta, who is playing her fifth season for Brock. "I couldn't be more grateful for my experience here and I'm so lucky I'll be able to look back one day and know I got to do it all with such a hardworking and inspiring group of teammates and coaches."
The Badgers hit for an average kill percentage of .405. In the second set, they turned up the efficiency by hitting for .529 while limiting the Warriors to -.074.
Meanwhile, the men's team (6-8) shut out the Warriors 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-19).
Brock honoured graduating senior players Colton Borkowski, Jason Yeung, Mitchell Taylor, Marcelo Muniz Correa, Dean Globocki and Owen Kerr prior to the match.
Correa registered 30 assists while Logan House led the team with nine kills followed by Peter Schnabel (eight), Globocki (seven) and Saulius Lianga (six). Lianga also led the team alongside Correa with eight digs each.
