The Brock women's soccer team celebrated its senior student-athletes following the last home game of the regular season at Alumni Field on Friday, Oct. 29.
The Badgers, who lost 1-0 to the visiting Waterloo Warriors, didn't allow the downpour of rain to dampen their spirits during a post-game celebration of their senior players.
The team celebrated captain Lindsay Appleton, and midfielders Arnelle Douglas and Cassandra Campanella surrounded by friends, teammates and family inside Ian Beddis Gymnasium due to inclement weather outdoors.
"These three are going to be missed. We challenged them early, knowing we have such a young and inexperienced roster," said head coach John Di Pasquale. "We asked them for leadership. We asked them for support on and off the field. They delivered. They can leave knowing they were instrumental in continuing to build something extraordinary. Once a Badger, always a Badger."
Appleton is a fourth-year Nursing student from Caledon; Douglas is a fourth-year Dramatic Arts student from Bowmanville; Campanella is a fourth-year Psychology student from Hamilton.
"This team has been my rock throughout my time at Brock," Appleton said. "They have been there for me through ups and downs. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to play with such an extraordinary group of women."
The Badgers (2-6) conclude the regular season with an away game at Waterloo on Sunday, Oct. 31 at 1 p.m.
