ST CATHARINES -  Facing the York Lions at home in the Bob Davis Gym, the Brock Badgers earned a straight set exhibition victory on Friday night to complete a perfect 7-0 preseason schedule. Set scores were 25-16, 25-19, 25-20.

A well dispersed team effort, five different Badgers players recorded five or more points in the quick three set win. Leading the charge was Christina Jovetic with 9.5 total points from seven kills, one service ace, and three block assists. Meanwhile, both Sadie Dick and Laurin Ainsworth tallied eight points, combining for 12 kills and three service aces between the pair.

Guiding the offence, setters Sarah Rohr and Lauren Teehan split duties in the Friday night match, each recording 12 assists. Defensively, libero Aleiah Torres notched a game-high 10 digs.

Next up for the Badgers is the start of the OUA regular season, beginning the new campaign with a home-and-home match up versus the Guelph Gryphons. The season opener will take place in Guelph on Saturday Nov. 12, before returning to the Bob Davis Gym on Sunday, Nov. 13. The Sunday home opener is scheduled for first serve at 1 p.m. with tickets available for purchase at brocku.universitytickets.com. Both matches will also be available to view online at OUA.TV.
