THUNDER BAY - Completing the second game in as many days during a trip north to challenge Lakehead, the Brock Badgers men's hockey team fell 4-1 to the Thunderwolves on Saturday night.
The road loss comes just 24 hours after defeating Lakehead 3-2 in the weekend series opener.
In the Saturday night meeting, the Badgers conceded two early first period goals to fall behind 2-0 to the home side. This was followed by a shorthanded goal for the Thunderwolves less than a minute into the second period, along with a third period marker just past the five minute mark.
Brock were able to get one back very late in the contest courtesy the stick of
Cole Tymkin, but the clock would run out on any come-from-behind effort.
Starting in net for the Badgers,
Mario Peccia finished the night with 34 total saves, including a big save on a Thunderwolves breakaway right at the end of the second period to keep Brock within striking distance heading into the final frame. Lakehead goalie Max Wright registered 31 saves in the win.
