WATERLOO - The Brock Badgers men's volleyball team earned their first win of the 2022-23 campaign defeating the Waterloo Warriors in straight sets on Friday night in Waterloo. Set scores were 25-17, 25-19, 25-18.
The Badgers were efficient with their offence recording a .357 attack percentage in the win, along with six service aces and 12 total blocks.
Third-year outside hitter
Sauli Lianga was a powerhouse for Brock notching several emphatic kills en route to a game-high 12 points from nine kills and three aces. Second-year outside hitter
Kylar Code was also impressive tallying 10 kills and two block assist to finish with 11 points. Meanwhile, both
Liam Strong and
Jacob Ferland converted more than half their attack attempts, both scoring 8.5 points.
Third-year setter
Grant Reddon guided the high-octane offence with 31 assists. Senior libero
Ethan Kalef, along with Code finished with five digs apiece defensively.
The Warriors were paced by Liam MacArthur who tallied a team-high 9.5 points from six kills, one ace, one solo block, and three block assists.
Brock will look to carry the momentum into a big-time matchup with the defending OUA champion McMaster Marauders on Sunday, Nov. 20 at Bob Davis Gymnasium. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase at
