Thorold, Ont - The Brock men's hockey team is building steam midway through the first half of the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) season.
Â
The Badgers defeated the Waterloo Warriors 5-1 at Canada Games Park in Thorold on Saturday, Nov. 19.
Â
Brock is 4-1 in its last five games.
Â
"To be disciplined is part of our identity. It's a core piece of what we're building," said head coach T.J. Manastersky. "We don't get scored on very often during five-on-five and we have balanced scoring. We had six different players score against Laurier and tonight we had five individuals find the back of the net. We're getting scoring from a variety of places, which is key at this point in the season."
Â
First-year defenceman
Olivier Desroches scored his first OUA goal and added an assist.
Jared Marino,
Zachary Taylor,
Adam Berg, and
Tyler Burnie each netted a goal.
Â
Goaltender
Mario Peccia made 19 saves to improve to 4-2 in between the pipes.
Jacob Roach chipped in two assists.
Â
Brock outshot Waterloo 25-21.
Â
Up next, the Badgers face off against Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) on Thursday, Nov. 24 at 6 p.m. The game is also available to stream on
OUA.tv.
