No. 9 Badgers fall in Waterloo

The No. 9 Brock men's volleyball team lost 3-0 (22-25, 19-25, 22-25) on the road in Waterloo on Saturday, Feb. 26.
 
The game was a noon start time after being pushed back due to COVID-19 protocols, which was originally scheduled as a home game for the Badgers on Friday, Feb. 25 at Brock.
 
The loss drops the Badgers' record in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) West Division to 6-3.
 
Although the Badgers were able to lead in digs (25-21) and tie in aces (4-4), the Warriors came out on top in most offensive and defensive statistical categories such as points (35-56), kills (29-44), blocks (2-8), and assists (26-34).
 
Leading the way offensively for the Badgers was Saulius Lianga with nine kills, followed by Nanle Yusuf with six and Austin Janzen's five.
 
For Waterloo, Liam MacArthur recorded a game-high 15 kills.
 
On the defensive side, Yusuf and Grant Reddon each added a block.
 
Next, the Badgers (6-3) return home and prepare to celebrate their senior class before the opening serve versus Waterloo on Sunday, March 6 at Bob Davis Gymnasium. The game time is 4 p.m.
